Building Mental Health Resilience in Kenya’s Youth and Vulnerable Communities

Low literacy, stigma, and limited access to mental health resources have resulted in poor mental health outcomes in 80% of Kenyan society. Youth are the most at risk.

Why Youth in Kenya Face the Highest Mental Health Risks

Our Solutions: Youth Mental Health Support in Kenya.

Mental 360 expands access to mental health care in Kenya by empowering youth and vulnerable communities through peer support, creative programs, and digital tools.

Our Impact

Low literacy, stigma, and limited access to mental health resources have resulted in poor mental health outcomes among 80% of Kenyan society, with youth being the most at risk. At Mental 360, we focus on peer-led models and technology to increase access to mental health care, raise awareness, and support psychosocial resilience. Our targeted programs are designed to bridge the gap between communities and mental health services, empower youth with knowledge, and foster inclusive, sustainable wellness systems across Kenya.

Growth Plan – Reaching 10 Million Youth by 2034

Mental 360 is committed to expanding access to mental health support for youth in Kenya, aiming to reach over 10 million beneficiaries by 2034. Our growth strategy focuses on strengthening partnerships, scaling successful models, and using technology to deliver impactful mental health services.

Our strategic priorities include:-

Scaling Sustainable Programs

We are enhancing the scalability and sustainability of our programs, particularly the School Wellness Clubs and Community Wellness Centres, which have shown proof of concept. We are working closely with key government bodies, including the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Interior Security, and the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, to secure accreditation and establish partnerships that will scale these interventions nationwide.

Deepening Community Engagement

We empower youth with lived experiences through psychoeducation, capacity building, and leadership opportunities. By engaging with communities and stakeholders, we advocate for systemic changes and foster stigma reduction at grassroots levels.

Leveraging Technology for Digital Wellness Communities

Through our Boma Digital Wellness Platform, recognized by the Facebook Accelerator Program, we are developing accessible mental health support tools for youth. With over 80% smartphone and internet penetration among young people in Kenya, Boma allows users to connect with care at the touch of a button. It also serves as a revenue-generating social enterprise, helping reduce our donor reliance by 70% over the next decade.
